Our vacation house is a small 1932 bungalow-style house in desperate need of a new kitchen. It needed a new kitchen’s conveniences, but the design had to fit within the River vibe: casual but cool. We came up with a plan that maximized the small space using materials that delivered charm and character and worked with the rest of the home.
Eric started by identifying much-needed structural work in the basement beneath the kitchen. That work shored up the structure and added stability to this part of the home. This kitchen has several odd angles, imperfect measurements, and lots of quirks – that’s where Eric’s deep breadth of experience and knowledge is so invaluable.

I’ve been working with Eric Wilson for over 17 years now and we’ve completed many projects together both commercial and residential. Mr. Wilson is very detail oriented and consistently does a beautiful job on time, and on budget.

I recently hired Eric Wilson of Specialty Improvements Unlimited to remodel both of my bathrooms. I found him through Home Advisors. He did a fantastic job! “We” did one bathroom at a time so I always had a functionable bathroom. The first one he gutted out the entire bathroom and started over. We replaced the shower insert with pretty tile and built in a niche for my shampoo etc., and a step for shaving my legs. He put in all brushed nickel appliances, a new vanity, sink, toilet, flooring, canned lights in the ceiling with a fan, and vanity light. It looks awesome! The second bathroom was much more extensive. I wanted a walk-in Jacuzzi, and not just a normal one, I wanted a two seater so I could put my feet up. Eric had to knock out a wall to install it. There again, we remodeled the whole bathroom with new appliances, vanity, sink, toilet, flooring, canned lights in the ceiling with a fan, vanity light, dimmer switch, and we put in a 32” flat screen TV. It turned out fabulous!!! It is now my “spa bathroom.” One thing about Eric, is he is not messy, he is extremely clean and neat. He has a great team that works well with him. They put down tarps and put up plastic walls, so the dust was nothing. I work at home, and we worked together on when he could shut off the water or electricity. It was minimal. As for pricing, I say if you want quality, you have to pay for quality. Sure, I could have had a new shower insert installed, or called Bath Fitters and had a temporary fix to the situation, but I wanted bathrooms to last my lifetime. If you are looking for somebody who totally cares about your home, I suggest using Eric. He is awesome!

I have used Eric Wilson, owner of Specialty Improvements Unlimited, for various projects over the past 15 years and they have been excellent in each of the projects they’ve done. I’ve found Eric to be very professional, and honest with high integrity and character. Some of the smallest projects involved repairs and improvements of electrical and plumbing systems, demolition of various structures followed by associated repairs and construction, etc. More recently Eric and his crew completely remodeled our 1,200 sq foot home, and added an additional 1,300 sq feet to our home along with an enormous deck and staircase outside, resulting a new 2,500 sq foot home with a large stone fireplace, high ceilings, all new electrical, plumbing, a new septic system, etc. Eric worked closely with our architect, the county engineers and inspectors to make sure everything was done correctly, and I believe has their high respect as a General Contractor.
